Official Rules and Regulations “Win This Room Contest”


  1. The “Win This Room” Contest (the “Contest”) runs from August 8th, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. [ET] to September 5th, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. [ET] (the “Contest Period”). This Contest is run byt he Youthculture Inc. (“YCI”) the “Contest Sponsors” andwill take place in any province/territory within Canada(excluding Québec). Entries submitted will be kept by Youthculture Inc. for prize selection.
  2. Eligibility Criteria: This Contest is open to all individuals who reside in any province/territory within Canada (excluding Québec) to individuals who are thirteen(13) years of age or older as of the date of entering the Contest. Please note: potential winners who have not reached the age of majority in their province of residence must receive permission in writing by their parent or legal guardian in order to qualify as a potential prize winner. Individuals must read, accept, comply and will be bound by the Official Rules and Regulations of this Contest. Note: Employees of the Contest Sponsors, or persons domiciled with an employee of the Contest Sponsors, their agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions and promotional agencies, as well as members of the immediate family (such as their father, mother, brothers, sisters or children) of such employees, their legal or common-law spouses or any persons with whom such employees reside (whether related or not), and all government entities and/or public healthcare entities are not eligible to enter, or otherwise, to participate in this Contest. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. Prizes must be accepted by the parent or legal guardian of winners who are under the age of majority.
  3. Method of Entry: No purchase/payment is necessary to enter the Contest. To enter the Contest go to and complete the entry form.
  4. All valid and Qualifying Entries must be submitted during the Contest Period. Qualifying Entries received before or after the Contest Period are not valid and will be deemed as null and void.
  5. Potential winners of the Contest will be notified by email within two (2) business days after the end of the Contest through their email address associated with their entry. If a selected entrant cannot be reached within two (2) business days, the entry is null and void and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to select at random another eligible entrant as a potential prize winner from the remaining eligible Qualifying Entries.
  6. Skill Testing Question: Before a selected entrant is declared the winner of the Contest, he or she must answer a time limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone or email at a mutually convenient time. If the selected entrant’s telephone number is not on file, a Youthculture Inc. representative will request it via email at the time the selected entrant is notified that he/she was selected as a potential winner in the Contest draw.
  7. All Entry Forms become the property of the Contest Sponsors who assume no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of submitted Entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
  8. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. For the purposes of the Contest, the “Contest Group” is composed of the Contest Sponsorstogether with its affiliates, including without limitation its parent, sister and subsidiary companies, retailers, franchisees, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers of material and services related to the Contest, and any other corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship or other legal entity directly involved in the Contest and their respective employees, agents, and representatives. The Contest Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this Contest. All decisions of the Contest Sponsors are final in all matters as they relate to this Contest.
  9. PRIZES:There is one (1) GRAND prize available to be won. The prize consists of all the Win This Room products in our storefront window (651 Queen Street East, Toronto, ON) at the time of winning. Approximate retail value is $1000 CDN.
  10. DRAW: On or around September 5th, 2011, and at the head office of Youthculture Inc. located at 651 Queen St., E., Toronto, Ontario, one (1) entry will be randomly drawn from all valid entries received during the Contest Period. Once the winner has confirmed acceptance of the prize, the prize will be sent out by Youthculture Inc.
  11. AWARDING OF PRIZES: To be declared a winner, a selected entrant must, in addition to meeting the Eligibility Criteria(Section 2 above) and otherwise complying with the Official Rules and Regulations of this Contest must, within 2 days of being contacted, complete and return to Youthculture Inc. (YCI) a Contest Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (a “Waiver of Liability Form”) releasing the Contest Sponsors and their respective directors, officers and agents from all liability and, except where prohibited by law, permitting YCI to use the selected entrant’s name, address (city and province) and image, without compensation, and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, in any publicity carried out by YCI. If the selected entrant is under the age of majority, the Waiver of Liability Form must be signed and submitted by his or her parent or legal guardian. Youthculture Inc. has the sole authority and discretion to determine whether a Waiver of Liability Form has been properly executed and has the sole authority and discretion to accept or refuse a Waiver of Liability Form that has not been properly executed. Following receipt of the selected entrant’s signed Waiver of Liability the Contest Sponsors or its representatives will send the prize to the winner. Please allow four (4) to six (6) weeks for delivery of the prize.
  12. No correspondence will be entered into, except with potential winners of this Contest.
  13. The Contest Sponsors, their affiliates, franchisees and each of their directors, officers, employees and agents are not in any way responsible for any lost, misplaced, destroyed, delayed, misdirected or undelivered Entries.
  14. Minors: Where the selected entrant is under the age of majority in his/her province of residence, as a pre-condition to the selected entrant being declared the winner and receiving the prize (or the guest being entitled to participate in the prize, where applicable), the parent or legal guardian of the selected entrant (and/or guest, where applicable) must consent in writing to the selected entrant being declared a winner and receiving a prize (and/or the guest participating in the prize, where applicable) and must also sign and return to the Contest Sponsor the Contest Sponsor’s form(s) of Waiver of Liabilitydocumentation (see Rule 14 above).
  15. Odds of Winning: The odds of winning the Contest are dependent on the total number of eligible and valid Entries received during the Contest Period.
  16. All decisions of the Contest Sponsors are final and cannot be reviewed or in any way appealed. Awards to potential winners have no cash surrender value. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to make reasonable substitutions for all or any portion of the Prizes.
  17. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to withdraw, amend, terminate or suspend in whole or in part this Contest at any time without prior notice and without liability.
  18. By completing the Entry Form, consent is given to the collection, use and distribution of the personal information disclosed, by the Competition Sponsors for the purposes of running the Competition (information is stored for approximately 1 year). Competition Sponsors will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering the Competition. Any inquiry concerning the personal information held by the Competition Sponsors should be addressed to the Competition Sponsors.
  19. Dispute – Canadian Residents: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity Contest may be submitted to the Youthculture Inc., 651 Queen St. East, Toronto, Ontario, for resolution. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an on-line Entry, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account on the Entry Form.
  20. The following definitions apply throughout the Contest Rules. Where words are defined in the singular, the plural of that word has a comparable meaning; where words are defined in the plural, the singular form of that word has a comparable meaning. The possessive form of a word also has a comparable meaning to that word.
    • “Entry Form”, or “Entry” means the form completed and submitted on the Web site []
    • “Entrant” means the person whose name and applicable personal information are entered on a Entry Form and “Potential Winner ” means an Entrant who has been selected as a potential Contest Winner;
    • “Promotion or Contest Sponsor” means Youthculture Inc., its publications and the media and promotional partners of Youthculture Inc., and each of their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents.
