Where Will Santa Live?

Wondering what to give that hard to get person this holiday season; why not give a gift that gives back AND guarantees you a lifetime spot on Santa’s “nice” list?

The David Suzuki Foundation (www.davidsuzuki.org) needs help to relocate Santa and his operations until the effects of climate change can be addressed. You can go to www.WhereWillSantaLive.ca to help Santa by sending the supplies he needs to land safely in a new home.“We’re asking Canadians to do something novel and give a gift to Santa this holiday season,” says David Suzuki. “We have to help Santa, the elves and the reindeer evacuate the North Pole and find a suitable temporary workshop in Canada.”

Although the David Suzuki Foundation’s “Where Will Santa Live?” campaign (www.WhereWillSantaLive.ca) is meant to be lighthearted, there is a sobering reality behind this advocacy. The fact is that climate change is threatening the future of winter in Canada. As a lover of nature, David Suzuki is deeply concerned many of our beloved winter pastimes are at risk. “Imagine a Canadian winter without shinny Hockey, tobogganing or snow angels,” says Suzuki. “We must act now to protect Canada’s iconic winter season.”

Of course you are not actually sending a gift to Santa. The money raised at www.WhereWillSantaLive.ca will support the David Suzuki Foundation’s efforts to protect the Canadian environment and turn back climate change. What a great way to tell that hard to buy for person on your list that you care about them and the planet. (And 100% of purchases are tax deductible.)
