These homemade granola bars will satisfy your hunger and boost your energy on the go.


1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
2 tablespoons margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup honey
Pinch salt
3 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup whole roasted almonds
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix together peanut butter, margarine, vanilla extract, honey and salt in a pot over the stove on medium heat.
  3. Ensure the ingredients are evenly mixed before stirring in the rolled oats and almonds (and flaxseed, if using).
  4. Transfer the warm mixture from the pot into an ungreased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes and remove.
  6. Cool the mixture in the dish before cutting into pieces.
  7. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
