Stéphanie Dubois

This month, Vervegirl Daily wants to put our local athletes in the spotlight, and with the Rogers Cup creating buzz all over town, who better to start with than with tennis pro Stéphanie Dubois?

Born in Laval, Quebec, on October 31st 1986, this young, energetic and competitive lady has some impressive achievements under her belt. She is the first Quebec tennis player to reach the third round of the Rogers Cup in 2006 and the first to get to the finals at the Challenge Bell in 2007.

Compared to Ana Ivanovic’s 6’1” and Maria Sharapova’s 6’2”, Stéphanie Dubois is a rather small tennis pro at 5’4” but hasn’t let her height get in the way of her ambitions. She has been playing tennis since the age of 5 and turned pro in 2004. Her current rank is 122 in both simple and double. Her best ranking – 95 on May 26th 2008 – made her the second Quebecoise in history to enter the Top 100.

With a brilliant career in the works, good looks and positive attitude, Stephanie Dubois is that beautiful girl-next-door who just happens to know what she wants and goes after it. An inspiration for young women everywhere!
