Montana Tucker is not your average fifteen year old.  The extremely talented actress, singer and dancer has an astonishing resume that most people twice her age could only dream of. You might recognize Montana from Chris Brown’s “sweet” 18th birthday party on MTV, or as the opening act for Ciara and L’il Wayne. On top of all that, Montana is being hailed as the next Beyonce or Jennifer Lopez among Hollywood insiders. So just how did Ms. Tucker accomplish so much so young?

Well, it wasn’t easy. When I spoke to Montana she was in the middle of a torrential downpour in her hometown in Florida with her whole family  helping her older sister move to college for the first time. Despite the bad weather, Montana was very friendly and surprisingly candid. Although she’s recently relocated to Los Angeles and is loving her new life in California, being back home reminds her that she does miss her family and friends in Florida.

But this admirable young lady is driven, and while speaking to Montana I was struck by a maturity and wisdom beyond her years. Although she’s made some sacrifices along the way, it’s her aspirations, professionalism, and plain hard work that have allowed her to achieve so much. That, and a deep love for performance. From the age of eight Montana says she knew “this was what I wanted to do forever. I had other activities that I was involved with as a kid but nothing felt like singing, dancing, or acting. There was nothing else that I wanted to do ever again.”

Montana has also had some great opportunities to work with some of the best in the business, like Ashanti, Omarion, Chris Brown, and Fabalous to name a few. When I asked Montana who she learned the most from and admired the most, she gave me an unexpected answer. “I really admire Flo Rida and all the rappers, like Lil Wayne, that I’ve worked with. People always think that rappers are tough guys, but really they are so down to earth and that surprised me.”

After having accomplishing so much and working with so many celebrities, Montana is in a great position to give other young girls some tips who want to follow their dreams as she followed hers. Montana’s advice is straight-foward and heartfelt. “If you have a dream just go after it, and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. Keep your head up and keep trying.” So there you have it, ladies.
And you can expect to see a lot of Montana in the next year. She is currently choosing between label offers to release her debut c.d. which she says will be a mixture of “hip-hop and pop”. If that’s not enough she is going into production on a film called the “The Jump Off ” with a star studded cast, including Cedric the Entertainer. She also just nabbed as a much coveted spot on Macy’s “Rock your Fashion” tour alongside Prince, Rihanna, and John Mayer.

So keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground Vervegirls, because if you don’t know Montana Tucker’s name yet, I have a feeling you will very soon.
