Halloween for Hunger

Halloween for Hunger

Have you ever been told you’re too old to trick-or-treat? This Halloween you can collect canned goods for the food bank to help your community while having a blast with friends!

By Erica Howes

The campaign Halloween for Hunger, run by Free the Children, is where youth go door to door saying: “Trick or treat, food to eat!” And instead of collecting candy, you collect items to donate to your local food bank.

It just takes three easy steps:

  1. Pick the area you want to trick-or-treat in and sign up on the Free the Children website.
  2. Print and distribute Halloween for Hunger flyers to houses a few days before. The flyers can be found here.
  3. On October 31st, get out your awesome costume and start trick-or-treating!

You’re making a huge difference in the lives of others in your community and having fun with friends at the same time. There is no age restriction; all you need is a crazy costume, a wagon and lots of energy!

Learn more about FTC’s Halloween for Hunger campaign and print out the flyers.
