School Lockdown at George S. Henry Academy

A police lockdown occurred yesterday at a Vervegirl school in the Toronto area
We send all our love and concern to one of our Vervegirl schools today. George S. Henry Academy in the York Mills and Don Mills Rds. area in Toronto was subjected to a three-hour lockdown starting at 2 p.m. and a thorough police-led search yesterday afternoon.

Reports of a gun sighting resulted in a teenage student arrested, but no gun was found. Police won't say if it was a male or a female. Investigations continue today to determine whether the stranger wandering the halls with a gun was connected to a fight that took place outside the school a day earlier.

The dispute on Wednesday included a group of students in Grade 9. The fight ended in minor stab wounds for at least one girl. There was still blood on the sidewalk outside of the school.

At around 1:55 p.m., police were alerted to a gunman on the premises. Minutes later, the Emergency Task Force and police were at the school.

We hope everything is being taken care of and that everyone is safe at this moment in time. Our thoughts are with you on this day. Please feel free to discuss this with other Vervegirls in one of our rooms.
