Drinking at Your Prom

Prom is a great time to celebrate our achievements. So why ruin the big night by making poor choices about alcohol?
Graduation is a major milestone in our lives. And that makes Prom a great opportunity to celebrate our achievements. So why ruin the big night by making poor choices about alcohol?

During the prom season, these posters will be displayed thoughout high schools in Ontario and LCBO stores to remind students that they don't need to drink to have fun at prom.

Here’s some practical advice to help celebrate your prom in style –

•    Have fun, but don’t get carried away – make smart choices about drinking. Better safe than stupid.
•    Make like a scout and be prepared – keep emergency numbers with you and enough cab money to get home.
•    Who’s got your back? Keep tabs on where your friends are and try to stay together when you’re out celebrating. If your plans change, check in with friends or family so someone knows where you are.
•    Use your head when it’s time to head home – buzzed, hammered, tipsy … whatever you want to call it, it doesn’t belong behind the wheel. Never drive if you’ve been drinking, and never catch a lift with someone who’s been drinking.
•    Alcohol is like your parents, it doesn’t belong at your prom – you don’t need alcohol to have a good time.

These tips will also be printed on fridge magnets and distributed free in LCBO stores in May. They are also online at www.lcbo.com/proms.
