This week, the spotlight is on
Joey Coleman – another bright presenter at Maclean’s OnCampus Expo, an online college and university tour.
Joey Coleman hasn’t had the easiest life but has definitely understood that with determination, you can achieve anything. At 11 years old, Joey was in foster care and moved out to live on his own at the young age of 17. He ran for school board trustee at age 18, didn’t get the position but was smart enough to learn from the experience and keep moving forward. Joey Coleman joined the army in 2001 and served until 2004, when he decided to go to university full-time. His thirst for knowledge and willingness to get involved with his community led him to take on university food services, get elected to the university’s student union council and to speak his mind through his now very popular blog on university politics.

The journalist and blogger is currently completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science while writing his blog about campus politics for Maclean’s OnCampus Fair.
