Draw some attention to yourself with the classic red lip. As long as you get the right shade to match your skin tone, anyone can pull it off. Make up artist Sabrina Rinaldi says the key to making it work is to keep the rest of your make up simple and light.

- Coat your lips with a sheer layer of your tinted moisturizer or foundation as this gives the lips a good base to work from.
- “Use a lipliner if you want a precise and sharp shape to the lips. Pick a liner that is the same colour of red lipstick you wil be wearing and line your lips along your natural lip line (over lining always looks fake!)
- In terms of colour, Rinaldi notes, “bluer reds are best suited to those with a pink, rosy skin tone. Warmer orange reds are best suited for those with yellow, golden or darker complexions.”
- Your eyeshadow should stay pale, using neutral shades so your lips can steal the spotlight!

A Note On Laying The Perfect Foundation:
Select a few colours that are closest to your natural skin tone. Next, apply a couple dots of each color on areas of your jaw line (the best place to test). Take a look near a window under natural light. The right shade is one that you can’t see because it blends in so well.
