Organic makeup? Check. Not-tested-on-animals beauty products? Check. Cruelty-free makeup brushes? ...Oh. That's something we hadn't thought about before. But being a lover of all things furry and four-legged, it's a natural next step in our eco-makeup evolution.
So we hit some makeup shops to do some investigating. Turns out quite a few companies are thinking just like us, these days. We found plenty of options for cruelty-free makeup brushes, just by asking around.
Our faves after a few test runs included the
Body Shop's line of award-winnng brushes in pretty much every size and shape imaginable. They use recycled aluminum for the lovely and ergonomic handles and all synthetic materials for the bristles.
Urban Decay, too, makes an awesome, professional-quality collection, called the
Good Karma Brushes, made of a super-soft man-made fibers and weighted metal handles for easy application (not to mention good looks).
Nice to know we can feel good about one more beauty indulgence.
