Talented since she was young, she sang with confidence on American Juniors and appeared as a guest star on Wizards of Waverly Place. Lucy Hale is not only a successful actress, but also an amazing singer. Vervegirl chats with the charming and beautiful Lucy Hale from the hit series Pretty Little Liars about her new movie “A Cinderella Story: Once upon a Song”.

VERVEGIRL: How different is it being Aria in the hit television series, Pretty Little Liars, and becoming Katie in your new movie “A Cinderella Story: Once upon a song”?
LUCY HALE: Pretty Little Liars is a heavy show. The characters in that show go through a lot, but it’s a nice change going into comedy in “A Cinderella Story”. The major difference between the two is scheduling because it takes longer to shoot a movie, but for the show we had to finish shooting at a certain time. Although I had the chance to develop into my character for PLL, there was more time for me to become Katie.

VG: In the movie, your character sings, and you’ve also been singing for a long time, since appearing on American Juniors when you were younger. Is singing your true passion?
LH: I’ve been singing since I was really young and I grew up performing. I wanted to sing before I knew about acting as a possibility for me. But music is definitely my first love. It opened a lot of doors for me even as an actor.

VG: You have a movie coming out soon and the PLL season is underway, what do you do to de – stress and relax?
LH: Usually a whole bunch of nothing! I love relaxing on my couch with my dog Jack, watching television. I also love to shop online, watch movies and hang out with my friends. It’s nice to relax on the beach, in the summer, on weekends after a hectic week.

VG: You’ve had the chance to work with a range of actors so early on in your career, but if you had the chance to work with one famous actor, who would it be?
LH: Reese Witherspoon. I would really like to follow her career path. Plus she’s also from Tennessee like me!

VG: In your new movie you play the character of Katie. What’s Katie like?
LH: It’s a Cinderella story so she’s the caretaker of the family. She cooks and cleans, but at the same time she also has to deal with school because she’s sixteen. She is really passionate about singing and has this voice which allows her to grow as an artist in the movie.

VG: If you were to describe your sense of style in 3 words, what would they be?
LH: Comfortable! I can never really describe it, but definitely comfortable, classy and spontaneous.

VG: What is one thing in your closet that you would never throw away?
LH: I haven’t had them for a very long time, but I think my basic spry boots will last forever. I definitely want to keep them for a while.
