Official Standard Rules and Regulations for Online Contests


THIS CONTEST IS INTENDED FOR RESIDENTS OF CANADA ONLY AND WILL BE INTERPRETED ACCORDING TO CANADIAN LAW AND SUBJECT TO ALL CANADIAN FEDERAL, PROVINCIAL, MUNICIPAL AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.  VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.



  1. Online Contests will have specific start and end dates as outlined in the “mini rules” associated with that contest at that particular time (the “Contest Period”).  Online Contests are run by the Youthculture Inc. (“YC”) and take place in any province/territory within Canada (excluding Québec).   Entries submitted will be kept by Youthculture Inc. for prize selection.

  2. Eligibility Criteria:  Online Contests are open to all individuals who reside in any province/territory within Canada (excluding Québec) to individuals who between thirteen (13) and twenty-four (24) years of age as of the date of entering the Contest.  Please note: potential winners who have not reached the age of majority in their province of residence must receive permission in writing by their parent or legal guardian in order to qualify as a potential prize winner.   Individuals must read, accept, comply and will be bound by the Official Standard Rules and Regulations for Online Contests.  Note:  Employees of the Contest Sponsors, or persons domiciled with an employee of the Contest Sponsors, their agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions and promotional agencies, as well as members of the immediate family (such as their father, mother, brothers, sisters or children) of such employees, their legal or common-law spouses or any persons with whom such employees reside (whether related or not), and all government entities and/or public healthcare entities are not eligible to enter, or otherwise, to participate in this Contest.  Proof of identification must be provided upon request. Prizes must be accepted by the parent or legal guardian of winners who are under the age of majority.

  3. Method of Entry:  No purchase/payment is necessary to enter the Online Contests. To enter, go to www.vervegirl.comand complete the entry form. All Entry Forms must include entrant’s full name, age, mailing address, contact number and a valid e-mail address.   

  4. Qualifying Entries received online shall be deemed to be submitted by the holder of the Entry Form.

  5. All valid and Qualifying Entries must be submitted during an Online Contest period. Qualifying Entries received before or after the Online Contest period are not valid and will be deemed as null and void.

  6. Potential winners of the Online Contest will be notified by email within two (2) business days after the end of the Online Contest and at the email address indicated on their submitted Entry Form. If a selected entrant cannot be reached within two (2) business days, the entry is null and void and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to select at random another eligible entrant as a potential prize winner from the remaining eligible Qualifying Entries.

  7. Skill Testing Question:  Before a selected entrant is declared the winner of the Online Contest, he or she must answer a time limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered on the waiver form or by email. 

  8.  All Entry Forms become the property of  YC  who assume no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of submitted  entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.

  9. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. For the purposes of the Online Contest, the “Contest Group” is composed of the Online Contest Sponsors together with its affiliates, including without limitation its parent, sister and subsidiary companies, retailers, franchisees, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers of material and services related to the Online Contest, and any other corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship or other legal entity directly involved in the Online Contest and their respective employees, agents, and representatives.   The Online Contest Sponsor(s) shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Online Contest including any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in the Online Contest.  All decisions of the Contest Sponsors are final in all matters as they relate to the Online Contest.PRIZES: Prizes and approximate retail values will always be announced in the Mini Rules online where an individual contest is being shown.

  10. DRAW:  On or around the end dates of the Online Contest, and at the head office of Youthculture Inc. located at 651 Queen St., E., Toronto, Ontario, entry (ies) will be randomly drawn from all valid entries received during the Online Contest period. Once the winners have confirmed acceptance of their prizes, the prizes will be sent out by Youthculture Inc. or the fulfilling agent.

  11. AWARDING OF PRIZES:  To be declared a winner, a selected entrant must, in addition to meeting the Eligibility Criteria (Section 2 above) and otherwise complying with the Official Standard Rules and Regulations of Online Contests must, within two (2) days of being contacted, complete and return to Youthculture Inc. (YC) a Contest Consent form and/or a Waiver of Liability form (releasing the Contest Sponsors and their respective directors, officers and agents from all liability and, except where prohibited by law, permitting YC to use the selected entrant’s name, address (city and province) and image, without compensation, and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, in any publicity carried out by YC. If the selected entrant is under the age of majority, the Contest Consent and/or Waiver of Liability Form must be signed and submitted by his or her parent or legal guardian. Youthculture Inc. has the sole authority and discretion to determine whether a Contest Consent and/or Waiver of Liability Form has been properly executed and has the sole authority and discretion to accept or refuse a Contest Consent and/or Waiver of Liability Form that has not been properly executed.   Following receipt of the selected entrant’s signed Contest Consent and/or Waiver of Liability form, the Contest Sponsors or its representatives will send the prize to the winner. Please allow four (4) to six (6) weeks for delivery of same

  12. No correspondence will be entered into, except with potential winners of the Online Contest.

  13. The Contest Sponsors, their affiliates, franchisees and each of their directors, officers, employees and agents are not in any way responsible for any lost, misplaced, destroyed, delayed, misdirected or undelivered Entries.

  14. Minors:Where the selected entrant is under the age of majority in his/her province of residence, as a pre-condition to the selected entrant being declared the winner and receiving the prize (or the guest being entitled to participate in the prize, where applicable), the parent or legal guardian of the selected entrant (and/or guest, where applicable) must consent in writing to the selected entrant being declared a winner and receiving a prize (and/or the guest participating in the prize, where applicable) and must also sign and return to YC the Consent and Waiver of Liability documentation.

  15. Odds of Winning: The odds of winning an Online Contest are dependent on the total number of eligible and valid Entries received during the Online Contest Period. 

  16. All decisions of the Contest Sponsors are final and cannot be reviewed or in any way appealed. Awards to potential winners have no cash surrender value. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to make reasonable substitutions for all or any portion of the Prizes.

  17. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to withdraw, amend, terminate or suspend in whole or in part any Online Contest at any time without prior notice and without liability.

  18. By completing the Entry Form, consent is given to the collection, use and distribution of the personal information disclosed, by the Contest Sponsors for the purposes of running the Online Contest (information is stored for approximately 1 year). Contest Sponsors will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering the Online Contest. Any inquiry concerning the personal information held by the Contest Sponsors should be addressed to the Contest Sponsors.

  19. Dispute – Canadian Residents:Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity Contest may be submitted to the Youthculture Inc., 651 Queen St. East, Toronto, Ontario, for resolution.   In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an on-line Entry, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account on the Entry Form.
