Abduction Advanced Screenings and Movie Soundtrack – Official Rules and Regulations

  1. The Contest runs from 9:00 pm EST September 10, 2011 until 12:00 pm EST September 16 , 2011. Entries submitted will be kept by Youthculture Inc. for prize selection.
  2. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter the Contest.
  3. You may enter the contest in two ways:

    ONLINE (for VANCOUVER; EDMONTON; CALGARY; REGINA; WINNIPEG; OTTAWA and HALIFAX ONLY) – go to vervegirl.com/contests, find the contest link and complete the online entry form.

    BBM COMMUNITY (for TORONTO ONLY) – go to the BBM sign up page at vervegirl.com/bbm and sign up to the BBM Community. There will be a BBM message going out on September 16, 2011 for your chance to win a pair of tickets – please note that this is for TORONTO screening only.

  4. The submission of the entry constitutes an “Entry”. All entries become the property of Youthculture Inc.
  5. Entries received online shall be deemed to be submitted by the holder of the ID account.
  6. All Entries must be submitted no later than the end of the Entry Period.
  7. NOTIFICATIONS: The selected entrant will be notified by email and/or BBM message. The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to contact additional entrants if the winner(s) cannot be contacted or are not eligible, having been contacted. If the selected entrant cannot be reached within 24 hours following the draw, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or fails to return the waiver as specified below, the Sponsors reserve the right, at its sole discretion, to select another entrant from the remaining entrants or to cancel the prize.
  8. Before a selected entrant is declared the winner of the Contest, he or she must answer a time limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered on the consent/ waiver form.
  9. All Entry Forms become the property of the Contest Sponsors who assume no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of Entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
  10. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. Contest Sponsors shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Competition including any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this competition. All decisions of the Contest Sponsors are final in all matters as they relate to this Contest.
  11. THE PRIZE: Winners from Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Halifax will receive a link to a downloadable screening pass for the movie Abduction in pre-determined theatres on September 21 or 22, 2011. There will be ten (10) winners from each Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary and five (5) winners from each Regina, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Halifax. Each winner will get a double pass for their city (total number of tickets to screening is sixty (60) double passes). Tickets must be accepted as awarded without substitution and are not transferable or redeemable for cash or allowed to be sold.
  12. THE DRAW: On or around September 16th, 2011, ten (10) winners from the following cities Toronto (through the BBM Community), Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and five (5) winners from Regina, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Halifax will be randomly selected from the head office of Youthculture, located at 651 Queen Street East, Toronto, Ontario. Once the winners have confirmed acceptance of the prize by completing the consent/waiver form, the prize will available to them electronically. Details for this will be sent at the time of consent.

  13. No correspondence will be entered into, except with selected entrants.
  14. Youthculture Inc. and www.vervegirl.com (together, the “prize providers”), their affiliates, franchisees and each of their directors, officers, employees and agents are not in any way responsible for any lost, misplaced, destroyed, delayed, misdirected or undelivered Entries.
  15. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted a BBM Entry, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the phone/ PIN number.
  16. The odds of winning the Contest are dependent on the total number of eligible Entries received.
  17. Candidates must be between the ages of thirteen (13) and twenty-four (24), who are residents of Canada (except residents of Quebec) and able to get to one of the listed cities, are eligible for selection in the Contest.
  18. Candidate’s entries are not accepted if they are employees of, or members of the immediate family of, or persons domiciled with an employee of the Contest prize providers, their agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions and promotional agencies, are ineligible. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. If the winner of the Contest is under the age of majority, the Prize must be accepted by his or her parent or legal guardian.
  19. The Contest is subject to the applicable legislation and regulations of Canada and the relevant province(s) or territory (territories) and is void where prohibited.
  20. All decisions of the Contest are final and cannot be reviewed or in any way appealed. Awards to successful Candidates have no cash surrender value. The Contest prize providers reserve the right to make reasonable substitutions for all or any portion of the Prizes.
  21. The Contest prize providers reserve the right to withdraw, amend, terminate or suspend in whole or in part this Contest at any time without prior notice and without liability.
  22. By completing the Entry Form, consent is given to the collection, use and distribution of the personal information disclosed, by the Competition prize providers for the purposes of running the Competition (information is stored for approximately 1 year). Competition prize providers will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering the Competition. Any inquiry concerning the personal information held by the Competition Sponsors should be addressed to the Competition prize providers.
  23. TECHNICAL ERRORS: The Sponsors cannot be held responsible for technical failures on the part of contest software or human error that results in inaccurate postings or notification. The Sponsors are also not responsible for email notifications that are rejected or do not reach a contest winner. The Sponsors assume no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. The Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Contest, or any portion thereof, should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, the Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
